View From the Window

Santa Barbara has been my home for the last few days while I’ve been taking a studio
painting workshop with Fauvist Painter Kathleen Elsey.  This is a work in progress and A LOT harder
to do than I thought it would be.  Keep posted for the final result.

Time for Tulips, original abstract floral by North Carolina Painter, Susan Scoggins

I have been feverishly painting for an upcoming fundraiser to benefit the North Carolina Alzheimer's Association.  My husband, Jerry, was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer disease at the age of 50.  That was when our world came to an end.....or so we thought!  This disease has brought many deep rewards in the midst of incredible pain.

One of the joys is my passion to create and capture all that is good.

Please join my in helping to stop Alzheimers...now and for future generations.

Streets of Southport, colorful original oil of north carolina coast landscape by Susan Scoggins

It was an unbelievable time in Southport. Water was calm, houses were pristine white as they bathed in the bright spring sun. I set up my easel, loaded one canvas with paint, then loaded another and another. The delicious colors were fresh and simply irresistible.
