Wilber and Caleb are coming right along. I’ve never met this little piggy, Caleb and his friend, Wilber. The owner of this farm has just sent lots of pictures and told me stories. Her request is that the painting shows their connection to each other. Spent a few days, adjusting their relationship to each other, proportions, etc. The image you see here is an underpainting in acrylic and I’m hoping it is beginning to give off the emotion of togetherness. Oils will be applied soon.

This little piggy and her hereford pal have been commissioned by an animal rescue farm. Both, Wilber and Caleb were rescued as babies, were bottle fed together and spooned together when it was cold. The owner has given almost total artistic license. Here’s the initial sketch. Music is turned on......the brush is about to begin!

Today, it was time to finish up Precious. She’s one of the ostriches from the Sante Ynes Valley in California, one of Ollie’s cousins. The beginnings of Precious have been sitting in my studio for months begging to be competed. Precious can be yours! 24x48 oil on canvas.

Since I haven’t posted in a while, thought I’d begin posting what I am working on. This painting has a lot of boats and a lot of strokes. The building in the background might be a little too pronounced. I don’t know. Plus, I have finished what’s on top of one of the boats in the front. Hmmm. What to do? What to do?
