Water Lilies - original oil by North Carolina Painter Sue Scoggins

A rest after all that dancing was much needed.  So last night, the dog and I began an abstract painting of water.  A client, last week, has commissioned me to do a sunset water painting to go over her bed.  We brainstormed to come up with her vision for me to put on canvas.  In the meantime it sparked a little water vision of my own.

The dog was not impressed!

Still needs a little work in the top righthand corner
Not sure where this one is going.  24x48 original oil on gallery wrapped canvas.

A LITTLE MARVIN GAYE - a painting by North Carolina Painter Sue Scoggins

30x40 on gallery wrapped canvas
contact suescoggins@gmail.com to reserve

Heard It Through the Grapevine.........Something happens when a painter is "forced" to stay inside during an ice storm.  I perused through my iphoto listening to old R&B music and ran across my niece's wedding photos.  It was a fabulous occasion in "Monet's" garden, outdoors, with the coolest jazz combo.  Reliving it started the creative juices flowing.  Incomplete.

More dancing to come!  I can't stop!

Pet Portraits of Deacon and Mo- by North Carolina painter Sue Scoggins

Four things you must have to do a puppy portrait:
1.  A cute puppy that steals your heart when you meet him.
2.  A good image.
3.  A place on your stove top to place your canvas.
4.  Good music
5.  Paint

COLLAGE - Creative paper and paint work by North Carolina Artist Sue Scoggins

Nothing like a few days of being iced in to cause someone to do some crazy art.  I covered my kitchen counters with plastic shower curtains and started layering tissue paper, newspaper, old paper paintings.  Did a little stamping, varnishing, and scribbling.  VOILA!

SUNNY'S FAVORITE PERCH - a Yellow BIrd painting by North Carolina Painter Sue Scoggins

Before I begin, 25 of your offered names for the last three yellow bird paintings.  SO, honored that you took the time to offer suggestions.  There were so many great names!  Thank you.

When I heard the name for the bird, I immediately took heart.  SUNNY!  So, with that in mind, here are the names of each painting.  The first painting is the newest Yellowbird painting.

As for the unpicked names?  Well.....they will be waiting in the wings for their own painting.
Thank you and have a SUNNY day!
