OCTOPUS DIVA!

Ok. So my client wanted a funky octopus for her bathroom.
Funky enough?  A pole dancing octopus with a drink in each hand.

ORCHIDS

Orchids
36x36 original oil on canvas

Now that the commissions are over, I wanted to get back into some abstracts florals.
I love doing them...sloshing paint, layering and layering, then fine tuning.  These were the orchids on my table in my living room.  There's always something wonderful to paint if you just look for it.

This was a fun one for the islands around Emerald Isle and the outer banks. Always color popping out somewhere.  Love living here.

IN THE MOOD FOR A FLORAL

Ok.  Listening to Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra and the likes.  Romantic floral music to me.  I took a short break from the commissions and had flowers on the brain.  Actually, I threw a lot of inks on a couple of large canvases a few months ago.  It was time I did something with them.  Had orange and pink in my head.  Someone told me I painted so many different styles that I must have a lot of "people" in my head.  Kind of funny.  Seriously, just love capturing all the good that I see.

CATCHING UP ON THE NORTH CAROLINA COAST

Hmm.  Looks like two different artists.  Guess I'm still trying to figure out my style.  This will be a year of new beginnings once I complete this 6 painting commission.  The client has been very patient.

Finishing up these commissions.   The Beaufort waterfront that I was stretching the other day is now complete.  Just need a really warm day, so I can set it in my window and let the heat dry it.  Delivery time next week.  Yikes!

Lest you think these paintings were painted in a day...think not.  The planning for these began in early March.  It's been two months from beginning to end.

BACK

It's been a month since I've posted.  Family matters of the greatest concern have been going on.
My dear hubby, who has been suffering with early onset Alzheimer Disease, passed away three weeks ago.  It was hard...but I thank God for painting.  And am so thankful to love what I do.

Now...for finishing up, well starting a commission, of the Beaufort waterfront.  Took a boat ride on Saturday taking good look from the water.  Today, stretching the canvas and filling in the beginning sketch.
